I hope that this blog has been of great benefit to all of you who follow it. I apologize for the lack of blogposts over the last few weeks. As you know, life gets a little crazy sometimes. I thought I would take this opportunity, though, to update you all.

I have been working as a barista for a little over two months now and am loving it! I love the people, the environment, and the coffee, of course. After working there for a month, I started working the espresso bar and taking a stab at latte art. Pulling shots of espresso is great fun! My goal for every customer is to make the very best drink that he or she has ever had—a perfectly pulled espresso, topped off with perfectly frothed milk, if necessary. Of course, my ability to do this will improve as I get more and more experience, but by making this my goal, and reminding myself of it constantly, I work harder at doing the best that I can for each person. Latte art has been a blast! I was able to get the heart down quite quickly, but it’s been more challenging to be consistent with the “wiggle.” Below are some pictures of latte art that I have done.

Now that I’ve updated you all with a little bit of what’s been going on in the coffee part of my life, I would like to update you with my plan for this website. As I am gaining more readers, I would definitely like to continue posting on a weekly basis. With that said, I would also love for your input. If there is anything that you would like for me to address, please message me on the contact page or comment section below.

Posts that are already planned are the following: cleaning a baratza encore grinder, cold brew brewing guide, brewing coffee with a Kalita Wave, brewing coffee with a Clever, espresso drink guide, latte art tips, pulling the perfect shot of espresso, introduction to coffee roasting, roasting coffee with a popcorn popper, roasting coffee in an oven, and a few other odds and ends.
